Thistle Dubh is a vibrant Scottish dance band located in Brisbane, dedicated to delivering the finest traditional music, particularly suited for dancing. Our ensemble features a rich array of instruments, including fiddle, keyboard, whistle, bodhran, vocals, and Highland pipes. We pride ourselves on our acoustic performances, distinguishing ourselves from the Celtic Rock genre.
We are available for concerts, as well as riotous ceilidhs and Scottish country dances. We regularly play for the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (RSCDS) in Brisbane. To ensure everyone enjoys the experience, we provide a qualified dance teacher who guides both novice and seasoned dancers through the steps.
Thistle Dubh translates to Black Thistle in Scottish Gaelic.
